As Calhoun City Schools continue to plan for the opening of the new school year in fall of 2025, safety remains the primary focus. In order to better facilitate arrival and dismissal procedures at Calhoun Primary and Elementary Schools a plan has been created to allow for the separation of car rider lines for each school. This plan necessitates a change to the arrival and dismissal times for Calhoun Primary School while times for Calhoun Elementary School shall remain unchanged. Effective August of 2025, the following procedures will be in effect:
Calhoun Primary School
Start Time 7:30AM (aligns with CELA)
Drop off to begin at 7:00AM
Dismissal Time 2:10PM
All CPS Car Riders shall enter from Linda Lane and Exit to Curtis Parkway both AM and PM to allow for clear access to the rear parking lot for buses.
Calhoun Elementary School
Start Time 8:05AM
Drop off to begin at 7:30AM
Dismissal Time 2:45PM
All CES Car Riders shall enter from Curtis Parkway and Exit to either Curtis Parkway or Linda Lane based on preference (since buses would have cleared at this time)
Carpool
(those with both a CPS and CES student) shall drop off with CPS in the morning and pick up with CES in the afternoon. Supervised holding areas will be in place to support these students.
CCS Bus Registration 2025-2026 - All CCS bus riders are required to complete a bus registration each year they attend school. Please review the reminders below for the 2025-2026 school year and complete your child's application as soon as possible for planning purposes.
Calhoun City Schools offers School Bus Transportation to any and all students that reside within the Calhoun City Limits. CCS does not offer transportation for out of district students. To ensure the safety of our students while we transport them to and from school, we will use the following protocols for students who wish to ride the bus.
CCS will offer school bus transportation primarily to and from the address at which the student resides. The transportation department does not accept notes to ride the bus home with a friend.
Falsification of any documents will result in loss of all transportation privileges for the entire school year.
CCS schools will not pick up or deliver students to a place of a business.
All requests to ride the bus must be made to the school in writing or by email. Any note or email must be received by 10am to be considered.

We are always working to improve communication, both internally with each other, and externally with the families we serve. We know it can be difficult to keep up with communication through multiple different channels like email, social media, and Remind—especially when it comes to communicating with parents.
That’s what we’re working to solve. This year we’re adding a new feature called Thrillshare to the Calhoun City Schools app! This tool moves all two-way parent-teacher conversations. It also enables teachers to share classroom announcements and updates in a way that’s much simpler for everyone to keep up with.
Since Thrillshare will exist within our district app, it’s also a chance for us to maintain a cohesive online presence and reinforce our district brand.
Here are just a few Thrillshare Rooms features we think you’re going to love:
Two-way messaging with parents, guardians, students, and staff in a monitored, secure space
Teachers can share classroom announcements, activities, and send reminders about coursework to families
Teachers can upload and store their classroom materials
Teachers can record and track student behavior
Automatic translation
So, what does all of this mean for you? This means that teachers no longer need multiple tools to keep up with families. We will no longer need to use Remind since we are moving to Thrillshare as our main source of parent-teacher communication. Remind is no longer supported. Classroom updates and parent-teacher communication will all exist within one comprehensive tool containing our app, social media presence, and website.
We hope Thrillshare offers you a simpler—and ultimately—easier communication experience.
