The Kindergarten Musical, "Cookies!" was a HUGE success. Thank you to Kimberly Epps and Susan Gallman as well as Kindergarten Staff and Parents. The costumes were extra "sweet!"
Please join us in welcoming Laticia Bickham to CELA! She has been loved by CES (we promised to take good care of her馃挍) since February but is joining us to be a FULL time counselor 馃帀. She will be with us the rest of this school year and next year.
She moved to Cartersville in January as a retired school counselor from Mississippi. She worked at the CTE (Career and Technical Center) in Meridian, MS for 22 years.
Heidi will be transitioning next year to support COLA students. Heidi has been so wonderful in every role that she's had, so please wish her the absolute best next year. We know she will be an asset to our middle school and high school students.

Parents please take a few moments to complete one survey per child attending Calhoun City Schools. We value your opinion as a school partner and participant in our annual needs assessment process. Your answers will help us decide how to best utilize state and federal resources to support the academic achievement of our students. Your answers will also be used to help develop the district Family Engagement Plan and your child's school improvement plan. Please refer to the school website under Federal Programs - Title I for a copy of the plans. The estimated time to complete the survey is 5-7 minutes. Thank you!

All CCS bus riders are required to complete a bus registration each year they attend school. Please review the reminders below for the 2024-2025 school year and complete your child's application as soon as possible for planning purposes.
Calhoun City Schools offers School Bus Transportation to any and all students that reside within the Calhoun City Limits. CCS does not offer transportation for out of district students. To ensure the safety of our students while we transport them to and from school, we will use the following protocols for students who wish to ride the bus.
CCS will offer school bus transportation primarily to and from the address at which the student resides. The transportation department does not accept notes to ride the bus home with a friend.
Falsification of any documents will result in loss of all transportation privileges for the entire school year.
CCS schools will not pick up or deliver students to a place of a business.
All requests to ride the bus must be made to the school in writing or by email. Any note or email must be received by 10am to be considered.
In case of an emergency the parent of the student would need to contact Geary Cooper at 706-602-6614. Or cooperg@calhounschools.org
Thank you so much for your support with morning drop-off. We know there is still work to do, but you all have made a tremendous impact with getting our instructional day started right after morning announcements!
Parents and/or Guardians,
We hope this message finds you all doing well and enjoying the anticipation of the upcoming spring break. As we prepare for the remainder of the school year, we wanted to share a friendly reminder about a small adjustment to our morning drop-off routine for our Pre-K and Kindergarten students.
Starting right after the spring break, we'll be implementing a slight change to our morning procedures to better align with the Complex. Here's what you need to know:
School Day Kick-off: Our school day will officially kick off at 7:30 AM sharp. We want to make sure all our learners are settled into their classrooms and ready to dive into the day's adventures right on time.
Car Drop-Off: Once the 7:30 AM bell rings, our car drop-off service will come to a halt. From that point on, we kindly ask that parents or guardians accompany their students inside and sign them in at the front office.
Traffic Tips: We've noticed that the traffic eases up nicely between 7:00 AM and 7:15 AM, making it the sweet spot for a stress-free drop-off.
Arrival Reminder: Please keep in mind that if you arrive at Barrett Rd after 7:20 AM, it might be a bit trickier to make it through the drop-off line on time. Let's plan our mornings together to ensure everyone gets off to a great start!
We understand that change can sometimes be challenging, but we truly believe that this adjustment will help kick-start our mornings with a smile, setting the stage for a fantastic day of learning and fun for our youngest Jackets!
Thank you all for your ongoing support and cooperation. As always, if you have any questions or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to the school office.
Warmest regards,
Amanda Swift and Mandy Robertson
